YOUNG RESEARCHER fellowship

Sponsor: French Clay Group - GFA

Description: The French Clay Group (GFA) and the Organizing Committee of the Euroclay 2019 will provide financial support for young researchers (post-doctoral fellow) to present results of their research at the Euroclay 2019 in Paris.
All postdoctoral fellows (that is young scientists - less than 5 years after their Ph.D. degree - without permanent or tenure-track positions) are eligible for these awards. Applications will be judged on a competitive basis by a three-member GFA committee. There are no restrictions with regard to nationality, gender or age. You don't have to be a member of the French Clay Group to apply for these awards.
 
The award will consist in lowering registrations fees from "academic" (490/590€ depending on the payment date) to "student" (250/300€ - See Conference fee here)
 
The application package consists in a single pdf file and must include a short Vita of the applicant (with experience from Master Degree), a copy of at least one abstract submitted for a presentation (oral or poster) at the Euroclay 2019, and a short (1 p. max) motivation letter. Application packages should be sent to euroclay2019-awards@sciencesconf.org by February 22nd (11.59 pm Paris time). Applicants will be informed on March 15th at the latest of the committee decision.

CMS STUDENT Travel Awards

Sponsor: Clay Mineral Society - CMS

Description: EUROCLAY is organized jointly with the Clay Minerals Society - 56th annual meeting. Students may thus apply for financial support from the CMS Student Travel grant program to attend this meeting. All student members of the CMS are eligible for the Student Travel Awards. Applications will be judged on a competitive basis. Applicants selected will be nominated by a five-member CMS committee and approved by the CMS Council. There are no restrictions with regard to nationality, gender or age. However you must be a member of the CMS to apply for a CMS Travel Award.
 
Travel Awards can be requested for up to $1500 per award for intercontinental travel. Travel awards application is a multi-step process:

  1. Each applicant must complete a Travel Award Application that is available on the CMS website http://www.clays.org/awards_student_travel_awards.html and send it to the CMS office (cms@clays.org)
  2. The advisor of each applicant should send a recommendation letter to the CMS office (cms@clays.org)
  3. The applicant should submit his/her abstract(s) to the conference through the regular abstract submission process (here)

The MARTÍN VIVALDI Award

Sponsor: Sociedad Española de Arcillas - SEA (Spanish Clay Society)

Description: The Martín Vivaldi Award is an International Award, sponsored by the European Clay Groups Association (ECGA) and financially supported by Sociedad Española de Arcillas - SEA (Spanish Clay Society), to offer financial assistance to the recipient, with the aim to enable him/her to participate in an EUROCLAY Meeting for the purpose of presenting his/her paper. The Martín Vivaldi Award is named after the Spanish clay mineralogist Juan Luis Martín-Vivaldi, a pioneer in clay mineralogy and one of the founders of Sociedad Española de Arcillas – SEA.
 
The award will consist of a honorarium of 1000 € to contribute to the recipient’s expenses for Euroclay 2019, including the registration fee, travel and hotel expenses for attending the Euroclay Meeting.
